Omari is a cultural marketplace and community space in Nevada City. We offer curated goods, host workshops and gatherings, and provide a setting for study, wellness, ceremony, and creative exploration led by trusted practitioners.

Omari is all three. During regular hours, Omari operates as a retail space featuring handmade and culturally grounded goods. At scheduled times, the space transforms into a venue for workshops, classes, ceremonies, and pop-up experiences.

Events at Omari are led by independent facilitators, practitioners, educators, and community leaders. Omari acts as the host and container. Each facilitator brings their own training, experience, and approach.

Most events are open to beginners as well as experienced participants. Each listing will note if prior experience, preparation, or prerequisites are required.

Some gatherings are educational or wellness-focused. Others may be ceremonial or spiritually oriented. Omari itself is not a religious institution. Event descriptions clearly outline the nature of each offering so participants can decide what feels aligned.

Omari and the Church of the Essence are closely connected but serve different roles. Omari is the land-based trade and activity center, providing physical space for cultural exchange, seasonal ceremonies, retreats, and community programs. The Church of the Essence is the spiritual and ministerial body, with its own leadership, teachings, and sacramental responsibilities.

Together, they function as one integrated system. Omari grounds the work through land, commerce, and community activity, while the Church of the Essence provides spiritual leadership, ceremonial authority, and stewardship of the tradition. Some Church of the Essence events and ceremonies take place at Omari, reflecting this coordinated relationship.

Registration details are provided on each individual event listing. Some events require advance registration, while others allow walk-ins if space permits.
